Why put off till 2020 what we can celebrate today?
Taylor Swift took it back to Reading, Pennsylvania for a snowy walk around the "Christmas Tree Farm." The bouncy holiday love song comes with a home movie montage, featuring little Tay opening gifts and sledding around Pine Ridge Farm.
"Christmas Tree Farm" came as a surprise for Swifties and Christmas cheer-lovers everywhere. On Thursday morning Taylor announced the song's coming arrival with a video on Instagram, and now it's already unwrapped and ready for countless replays.
“Hey I know this is pretty wild but I’ve just written a Christmas song,” she shared from the comfort of her couch in the clip. “I feel like it’s weird to just like, wait a year to put it out.” Without anyone to offer advice, Swift consulted Meredith the cat, who was generally unimpressed. Selfish. Luckily she rented a VCR and came through with an instant classic.
Believe it or not, "Christmas Tree Farm" isn’t our only present. On Wednesday it was also announced that a documentary about the star’s life will debut at Sundance in January, eventually making its way to Netflix. Miss Americana is directed by Lana Wilson and is described as a “raw and emotionally revealing look at one of the most iconic artists of our time during a transformational period in her life as she learns to embrace her role not only as a songwriter and performer, but as a woman harnessing the full power of her voice.”
Merry Swiftmas y’all, we're getting everything we wanted.
