Is it finally time for some new Miley Cyrus music? Going by the pop starlet's latest contribution to social media, the time has come and it’s “for real this time.”
Using the hashtag #SheisComing, Cyrus took to Twitter posting a snippet of her 2008 single “Start All Over,” to let her Smilers know that it is in fact time to “Meet Miley Cyrus….. again.”
Miley finished off the tweet with a promise #ButForRealThisTime as she had already made this announcement once before in May last year. The singer said she would be dropping three EPs “ SHE IS COMING / HERE / EVERYTHING all to make up 1 album #SHEISMILEYCYRUS.”
However since then, only one of those EP’s has been released, She Is Coming, which delivered us the glorious single “Mother’s Daughter.” And Miley didn’t stop there, the Tennessee native, gave us a little “TEASE” and girl… you can say that again.
Starting off on Instagram Live and then sharing on Twitter, Cyrus teased some new music in a titillating video, jamming out to an unreleased bop while serving us braless blinged-out neon disco vibes.
Miley clearly seems to be in a teasing mood, or she's just being Miley, either way she took to Instagram, this time with a post, to let us know that her famous friend and our girl crush, Dua Lipa "has heard what you haven't...," and by "you" she means us of course. Yeah Miley, we know... so hurry up and give us more than a little tease. But honestly, we'll be able to deal with a bit of waiting if this is photographic evidence of a possible collaboration to come.
Miley launched her career on the Disney Channel, as the star of Hannah Montana, during which she she dropped her first album as herself, Meet Miley Cyrus. The following two album, Breakout and Can’t Be Tamed really indicated that Cyrus was much happier not having “the best of both worlds,” and was truly thriving just being herself, with the latter marking the dawn of an evolution for Cyrus, who was making the change from child to adult. She left Disney and Hollywood Records and after taking a much needed break from the spotlight signed with RCA Records. Since then she released the appropriately titled Bangerz in 2013, then Miley Cyrus & Her Dead Petz in 2015 and Younger Now in 2017.
Through the years we’ve seen Miley evolve and reinvent herself with every new album she puts out and it would be putting it lightly to say that we are beyond hype to see what this new era brings. We already know it involves a mullet and possibly Dua Lipa, so our expectations are high.
