RADIO.COM has teamed up with the Children’s Cancer Association and MyMusicRX, to bring questions from kids facing cancer or other serious illnesses directly to their favorite artists. Music’s biggest stars like Billie Eilish, Keith Urban, the Jonas Brothers, and more each took time to answer these amazing young people, and we’re proud to share it with you.
Via video, we link these artists with hospitalized kids for an exclusive personal response, all with the help of MyMusicRX, who for over 24 years has provided one-on-one music experiences just like this to relieve some of the stress, anxiety, and perception of pain these kids face.
Maria is 7 years old, and wanted to ask Lizzo about her favorite power song. The “Truth Hurts” singer has sky-rocketed to the top in 2019, earning 8 GRAMMY nominations, including Album of the Year. She’s been such a source of self-love and empowerment, but what empowers her?
“Hey Maria, cutie, with the giggles,” Lizzo smiles back at her question. “It’s my songs. ‘Good As Hell’ really empowers me, and I’m so lucky because I get to sing it every single night. I write songs to empower myself and to help me get through life. It’s my therapy.”
“It’s working” Lizzo adds as her eyes light up with a laugh.
