Rihanna is promising to use her star power to help the people of the Bahamas.

The pop star tweeted that it broke her heart to see the devastation being done by Hurricane Dorian. She later added that her Clara Lionel Foundation was already figuring out how to help.

The Clara Lionel Foundation was founded by Rihanna in 2012 in honor of her grandparents. It supports and funds emergency response programs and education around the world. CFL says it was one of the first organizations to mobilize help on the ground following hurricanes Harvey, Irma and Maria in 2017.

Rihanna is a former island girl herself, having been born in Barbados.

Dorian has been drenching the Bahamas and pounding the islands with intense winds. Making things worse, the storm practically stalled long enough to destroy thousands of homes. At least five people have been killed in what Prime Minister Hubert Minnis is calling a historic tragedy.
