Ariana Grande has just become the most followed female celebrity on Instagram, crossing over the 200 million mark.
Her most recent contribution to the social platform is a trio of jaw dropping posts (some with slideshows included) all about the 2020 MTV VMAs. Ari shared her excitement both before and after Sunday night's festivities.
In honor and celebration of their yet to be known VMAs sweep, “soul sister” and “Rain on Me” collaborator Lady Gaga, gave the pop princess a shout out and some love on the very platform she reigns supreme. Posted on Saturday, in anticipation of the following night's performance Lady G added, "Congratulations to my friend @arianagrande for 200 million followers! You're a queen! Wear that crown!”
For a hot minute Kylie Jenner and Selena Gomez were teetering at the top of the most followed list, as far as females go, however neither ever surpassed the 200 million mark. And while the GRAMMY-winning singer is the first woman to cross the mark, soccer star Christiano Ronaldo was actually the first to reach that milestone, with a total of 238 million followers.
Ari has yet to acknowledge the feat on IG, but did make mention of it on the VMA stage while also thanking Gaga for the incredible honor of sharing such a big moment with her, as well as MTV for having her be a part of the big occasion.
