Nikki Sixx is starting the year on vacation with his wife and 6-month-old daughter.
The Mötley Crüe bassist posted a picture of him in proud dad mode while holding the baby in a sparkling pool somewhere where it’s warm. He wrote: “I luckily have a lot of strong and sometimes bossy woman around me as you can see from this photo of Ruby giving me the ins and outs of a proper belly flop in the shallow end of the pool.”
Sixx described Ruby as “spunky” shortly after she was born in July.
He and wife Courtney are also sneaking in some time for themselves during their January getaway, as he made clear in his next post: “Grown-ups need some play time too.”
Courtney is known to many as the How2Girl, and Sixx helped her document her pregnancy through his passion for photography.
“As Courtney and I were planning our pregnancy, I was also planning on building a new photography studio," Sixx told People last year. “As soon as the studio was finished, I came up with concepts for the pregnancy shoot so our daughter would have them for her memories.”
Sixx is getting some vacation time in now because Mötley Crüe will be on the road for much of the summer with Def Leppard, Poison and Joan Jett. Their stadium tour, which is already sold out in some markets, begins June 21st in San Antonio and is scheduled through September 5th in Inglewood, CA. But some members of the bands involved have hinted that the trek could be extended.
