It hasn’t been all that long since the Foo Fighters released new music, and it might not be all that long before we hear some more.

In an interview with Rock Sound, drummer Taylor Hawkins predicted the band’s tenth studio album would be ready sometime in 2020.

"From what I've heard from our fearless leader, Dave Grohl, he has a lot of demos that he's worked on and I think we'll start, once this tour is over… I think not too soon after that we'll start the process of putting the songs together as a band, Hawkins said. "It's a long process, we do a lot of demoing and stuff, but I think that we'll have, I'm hoping, I think we'll have a new record by next year. Should."

The last studio album released by the Foo Fighters was 2017’s Concrete and Gold, and the band has never gone more than four years without issuing a new LP.

Hawkins, Grohl and company are in Europe for a string of festivals including Reading and Leeds.

Grohl found time to surprise the crowd at a London club on Friday. He performed some Foo Fighters songs, but the highlight was a duet with Rick Astley on the latter’s 1987 hit “Never Gonna Give You Up.”
