Alex Trebek Returns for 'Jeopardy!' After Cancer Treatment

Alex Trebek is back to the “Jeopardy!” grind despite having gone through his rounds of cancer treatment. He’s now filming episodes ahead of the show’s 36th season which premieres in September.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Trebek is currently taping all new episodes for the new season which will air on September 9th. The season has been in production for about a month or so.

Trebek can be seen in a video, announcing the kick-off of filming of Season 36. “It’s another day at the office for me,” he begins.

He reminisces about the James Holzhauer era of last season and continues with the exciting things fans can look forward to this coming season.

Then, he addresses his health. “I’ve gone through a lot of chemotherapy, and that is now over. I’m on the mend, and that’s all I can hope for right now,” he says.

“We have some exciting things coming up, and I can’t wait to share them with all of you. Let me tell you, it’s going to be a good year,” he concludes.

Trebek shared back in March that he was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer and would begin treatment. He also revealed that he would keep working on “Jeopardy!,” despite admitting the challenges that came with that later on.

Later in May, Trebek announced that he was “near remission.”
