Things got real last night on Season 28 of “Dancing with the Stars!” With only two weeks left, the announcement of the Mirrorball Trophy winner will happen.
Last night’s episode included some of the best dancing fans have seen based on their score. For the first time this season, the judges pulled out their 10 paddles.
Dancing lovers, in case you missed it, we are sharing the most memorable highlights of the night!
Perfect Score: 10/10
History was made this season as judges gave out a perfect score for the first time! Kel Mitchell achieved a 10/10 from two of the judges and a 9/10 from the other. But Ally Brooke was the first contestant to earn a perfect score when she danced the Paso Doble to her original song "Higher." Brooke started out singing and then wowed the judges with her technique, landing her the first perfect score of the season. James Van Der Beek and his partner Emma Slater also received a 10/10 across the board.
Hannah Brown Is Back!
Hannah Brown had a rough week, as she was home sick. Brown said she needed to find herself and get back into the competition. During the episode Brown and her partner Alan Bersten went back to her hometown in Alabama. When she hit the dance floor, the judges were impressed. She earned two 10s and a 9 for their quickstep routine.
President Trump Supports Sean Spicer
Former White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer's professional partner Lindsay Arnold could not dance due to a death in her family. One of the judges Len told Spicer that "the viewers threw him a life preserver and that the mermaids had better feet than he did." President Donald Trump told fans that they should vote for him. "He is a great and very loyal guy who is working very hard!," Trump said.
Couples' Dance Off!
It was "Dance-Off Week" for the competition! With only 2 weeks left, the judges said they were going to be strict on their scores. After a first-round dance to a style the couples haven't performed, next was the dance-off challenge. James Van Der Beek and his partner Emma Slater did not have to compete for the challenge because they both received the highest score last week. The couples that competed against each other:
1.) Pop star Ally Brooke and Sasha Farber vs. Comedian and actor Kel Mitchell and Witney Carson
2.) Country artist Lauren Alaina and Gleb Savchenko vs. “The Bachelorette” Hannah Brown and Alan Bersten
3.)“The Office” actress Kate Flannery and Pasha Pashkov vs. Former White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer and Lindsay Arnold
Kate Flannery of 'The Office' Shares Emotional Memory
Kate Flannery got very emotional sharing memories of her late sister. She revealed that the song she was dancing to, "Heat Wave" by Linda Ronstadt, was her sister's favorite song. She performed in honor of her late sister while doing a fun and goofy jive routine. Judge Carrie Ann Inaba said, "I felt that celebration and I'm sure your sister... is smiling."
And the couple going home is... Kate Flannery and her partner Pasha Pashkov. Ally Brooke and her partner Sasha Farber joined them in the bottom 2 for a shocking result. The judges were not thrilled with the results. Carrie Ann Inaba grappled with the results of the highly competitive evening. "It's confusing for me that these are the two couples in the bottom two," Inaba said. "Confusing and irritating."
