Baby Yoda is overloading the internet with cuteness.
In the first episode “The Mandalorian,” which premiered November 12 on Disney+, the bounty hunter is tasked with apprehending an asset that's revealed to be... an adorable baby alien.
The little guy was dubbed ‘baby Yoda’ by the internet because of his uncanny resemblance to the legendary Jedi master.
Expect to see baby Yoda toys flying off the shelves this holiday season.
Here’s what we know about the adorable and mysterious new character.
Baby Yoda (Probably, Most Likely) Isn’t Yoda
Baby Yoda cannot be Yoda as he died five years before the events of “The Mandalorian” in "Star Wars: Episode VI – Return of the Jedi" at 900 years old, but he does seem to be the same species. Will we finally learn more about the long-eared species?
Baby Yoda Is 50
Despite his adorable and young appearance, a droid informs the Mandalorian that “species age differently,” and baby Yoda is a ‘young 50.’ If he’s the same species it makes sense that he’s an infant considering Yoda lived to be 900.
His Name Isn’t Baby Yoda
Again, that’s just the name given to the stinkin’ cute green creature by the internet. In the series, he’s referred to as “The Child.”
Jon Favreau Releases Baby Yoda Concept Art
In the concept art released by "Mandalorian" creator Jon Favreau, baby Yoda is wearing the cutest little jacket.
The Force Is Sensitive With This One
Since baby Yoda is still an infant, he hasn’t mastered his skills, but we do know that he’s Force-sensitive. In Chapter 2, as the Mandalorian battles a rhinoceros-like beast, baby Yoda raises his sweet little hand and stops the beast before passing out.
The Series Is Being Spoiled for Star Wars Fans Worldwide
Many countries such as France, Italy, Spain, and the UK are going to have a harder time avoiding spoilers since Disney+ isn’t launching there until March 31, 2020.
