Since the 1980s, fans have seen the legendary Alex Trebek host the famous game show “Jeopardy!”
Fox Business reported that Trebek set a Guinness World Record in 2014 for “most game show episodes hosted by the same presenter," with Trebek racking up a total of 6,829 shows hosted at the time. Today, Trebek has hosted nearly 8,000 episodes of the famous game show.
With all of his success, many fans often wonder how much money Alex Trebek makes each year.
His biography on the “Jeopardy!” website stated that Trebek has won six Daytime Emmy awards for Outstanding Game Show Host. Trebek has also scored a Lifetime Achievement Award from the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.
There are more achievements on the horizon for the famed gameshow host. Trebek shared earlier this month that he plans to drink after retirement.
However, Trebek, who has been battling stage IV pancreatic cancer since March of 2018, told fans that he doesn't plan to say goodbye to the show just yet.
In a sit down interview with Michael Strahan, the host said that when he does say goodbye, he will request the director to leave him 30 seconds at the end of the show for his final farewells.
Despite his health issues, Trebek remains dedicated to his hosting duties for as long as he’s able to.
