Prince William will not be tuning into the new season of “The Crown.”
Oscar winner Olivia Colman, who plays Queen Elizabeth II in the show’s upcoming third season, recently asked the Duke of Cambridge if he watches the series and admitted the conversation “didn’t go very well,” reported “Entertainment Tonight.”
“I met Prince William at a dinner, and he asked what I was doing at the moment before he quickly added, 'Actually, I know what you're doing,'" she recounted during an appearance on “The Graham Norton Show.”
She continued: "I was so excited and asked, 'Have you watched it?' His answer was a firm, 'No.'”
Despite the awkward exchange, HIs Royal Highness still got along splendidly with the 45-year-old actress.
“But he was very charming and very lovely,” she added.
While Coleman took home a Best Actress Oscar for playing Queen Anne in The Favorite, this will be her first time stepping into the part of Queen Elizabeth II, following Claire Foy’s two-season reign in the lead role.
With big shoes to film, the English actress revealed the extent of her preparation to play the living royal icon.
“I did nothing,” she told Norton. “Though I did have a movement coach. But still I walked like me, or rather like a farmer!”
This season will also see other cast changes as Helena Bonham Carter takes over as Queen Elizabeth’s sister Princess Margaret and Tobias Menzies will now play Prince Phillip.
Season three of “The Crown” premieres November 17th on Netflix.
