More Baby Yoda is coming in 2020, but patience, you must have.
“The Mandalorian” wrapped up its first season on Friday and gave fans something to look forward to – the premiere date for season 2!
Creator Jon Favreau revealed that the second season of the Disney+ live-action series will premiere next year, but unfortunately, fans have to wait till the fall.
“Season 2 of #TheMandalorian coming Fall 2020,” Favreau tweeted.
In addition to the premiere date, Favreau revealed another teaser for the new season when he tweeted a picture of a Gamorrean figurine, a “Star Wars” species not featured in the first season.
Disney+ confirmed the news commenting, “John has spoken,” on his tweet.
Despite the long wait, fans didn’t seem too upset. Instead, they thanked Favreau for creating what one user called “the best thing Star Wars has done in 30 years.”
Other Twitter users simply used gifs of Baby Yoda smiling and laughing to celebrate the exciting news.
Pedro Pascal plays the titular bounty hunter on the "Star Wars" series.
Considering the success of the first season, a second season was a "sure thing."
Even before the pick-up was confirmed, Favreau felt confident telling Entertainment Weekly in July that he was already writing more episodes of the series.
The eight-episode season premiered on November 12, the same day Disney launched its highly-anticipated streaming service.
It spawned a worldwide obsession with Baby Yoda, known as “The Child” on the series. Baby Yoda toys are set to make their debut in the Spring of 2020.
Don't worry, Disney+ won’t leave you hanging. To hold you over, the service is releasing more “Star Wars” content including the animated spinoff “Star Wars: The Clone Wars,” returning February 2020 for the final 12-episode run.
