Robert De Niro has gone from Godfather to Grandfather.
A new trailer has been released for “The War With Grandpa,” the legendary actor’s first film since 2019’s aging mobster epic “The Irishman.”
In the film, De Niro plays Ed, a grandfather who is mercilessly pranked by his sixth-grade grandson Peter who doesn’t want to give up his bedroom after his grandpa moves in.
The pranks turn into a full-on war, with Ed tapping a cast of friends that includes Christopher Walken, Jane Seymour and Cheech Marin in attempts to win the room.
The movie co-stars Uma Thurman and Rob Riggle as the parents and Laura Marano as the older sister.
Directed by Tim Hill (“Alvin and the Chipmunks”) and written by Tom J. Astle and Matt Ember (“Home”), “The War With Grandpa” is based on the 1984 novel of the same name written by Robert Kimmel Smith.
The film is scheduled to come out Oct. 9.
