Zara Larsson is serving up a whole new vibe in her most recent single “Love Me Land.” The Swedish pop sensation released a video to accompany the new dance bop and the paired-down visual of Zara dancing in a glitzy bodysuit evokes mystery and power.
Larsson sat down with CHANNEL Q’s AJ Gibson and Mikalah Gordon and the “Symphony” singer dives into the energy she channeled to create all aspects of “Love Me Land.” Zara tells us that while she finds Pop music fun and something easy to dance to she also views Pop music as a vehicle to share her purpose.
Zara often aims to create music that has dual capability. Whether the song is a great bop that her fans can dance to at the club or contains lyrics that really resonate with a listener on a deeper note, Zara strives to ensure her music accomplishes both.
“I think with pop music if you want it to have a meaning, it has a meaning because its how you interpret it,” shares the singer.
On “Love Me Land” Zara explains, “I felt like I had something to prove. I felt like I want people to see me dance,” she continues, “I just really felt like I wanted to express that side of my artistry as well. If you see me live you know I love to dance… I wanted to make it mysterious and sexy. I’m not a teenage girl anymore, I’m a young woman.”
The powerful vocalist also shares with us that she continually aspires to be multifaceted in her work. “I love to be versatile too,” says Zara.
We can anticipate that each piece of work she puts out will be different from the next. At this point in her career, Larsson is trying new things all the time.
