One thing that could have made this cardboard cutout better would have been if it was accompanied by two other cutouts supporting its weight.
But that's about the only piece of criticism I have about this otherwise hilarious cameo appearance by Bernie Lomax (played by Terry Kiser) at Kauffman Stadium, continuing the fun theme of MLB teams featuring cardboard fans throughout the 2020 season.
Lomax appeared in "Weekend at Bernie's," in which the plot, for those of you who haven't been fortunate enough to watch this gem from the late 1980s, follows two young insurance company employees who find their boss dead at his mansion right before a party starts, where they need to keep up the facade that he's still alive -- which obviously comes with hysterical, completely ridiculous results.
Among my favorite scenes is one that occurs during a beach make-out session.
Another one of the memorable cutouts was Steve Bartman, the infamous Cubs fan who interfered with a foul ball that Moises Alou thought was catchable.
And then, of course, there was the inclusion of Chipper Jones at Citi Field, the ballpark at which he is hated more than perhaps any other.
