Chick-fil-A is shaking up its menu, but with a Southern twist.
When biting into the sandwich, chicken lovers will taste an original Chick-fil-A filet drizzled with honey, topped with Southern-style pimento cheese and served on a toasted bun with mild pickled jalapeños, a press release said.
“This is the first variation of the Original Chick-fil-A Chicken Sandwich we’ve tested as a seasonal item,” Chef Stuart Tracy, one of Chick-fil-A’s senior culinary developers, said in a statement.
“The jalapeños add what we call ‘entry-level’ spice,” Tracy said. “They give the sandwich just a little kick, bringing a Southwest influence that pairs well with honey and pimento cheese.”
Tracy and his team have been working on this new sandwich for more than a year.
The sandwich will only be available in select North and South Carolina restaurants, specifically in upstate South Carolina and the Asheville, North Carolina area.
The chain might be famous for its chicken, but pretty soon, you’ll find yourself going there for dessert and coffee.
Chick-fil-A fans will be thrilled to know that several new menu items that debuted on September 14 have everything to do with chocolate.
According to an announcement, the first addition is the Chocolate Fudge Brownie, which consists of semi-sweet chocolate melted into the batter with chunks of fudge. The chain also launched a seasonal beverage -- the Mocha Cream Cold Brew to sweeten up the morning. It’s a swirl of cold-brewed coffee, sweetened cream, and flavored chocolate syrup served over ice.
