Disney World Bans Face Masks With Holes, Mesh or Valves

The most magical place on Earth is releasing new rules to keep guests and cast members safe during the coronavirus pandemic.

Disney World has updated its face mask policy to further explain which types of masks visitors are allowed to wear when visiting its theme parks, reported Fox News.

The revised policy now says face masks with holes, mesh or valves are not allowed.

“At this time, based on guidance from health authorities, neck gaiters, open-chin triangle bandanas, and face coverings containing valves, mesh material or holes of any kind are not acceptable face coverings,” the policy reads.

The new policy also applies to Disney Springs and other areas of the resort.

“The use of face coverings is not a substitute for physical distancing,” Disney added.

This isn't the first time Disney updated their mask policy.

Earlier this month, Walt Disney World clarified that when they say masks, they mean that you MUST wear a mask with ear loops or ties. Other types of “face-coverings,” including bandanas and “neck gaiters”/face wraps, will not be permitted.

With more rules going into place to keep others safe, Walt Disney World previously announced it was permanently closing down some staple attractions since reopening.

The three attractions include Stitch’s Great Escape, located inside the Magic Kingdom, along with Primeval Whirl and Rivers of Light at Animal Kingdom.

As COVID cases surge in Florida, Disney has been taking precautions to ensure the safety of crew and guests.

Some of the changes implemented include requiring face masks for guests 2 and older, no longer using fingerprint scanners, and leaving empty seats on rides. Guests are also encouraged to wash and sanitize their hands frequently.

To close a loophole that let vistitors refrain from wearing a mask. Disney World has also banned guests from eating and drinking while walking around the theme parks, reported Business Insider.
