Are you guilty of making a mess when you go out to eat?
An image shared on Facebook revealed a family's very untidy dining space, with the tabletop and surrounding floor covered in garbage, food and torn-up napkins.
The photo was posted to "Spotted: Colchester," a Facebook group that allows residents in the area to share pictures and messages anonymously.
"I don’t care who you are, how often you get to go out to eat, how many kids you’ve got or how bad your day has been," the caption began. "It is NOT ok to go out to dinner and walk away from your table - leaving it in a state like this for somebody else to clear up."
"The poor young girl left with this disgusting mess didn’t know where to start," the caption continued.
The incident occurred in a local Harvester, a pub and restaurant chain in the U.K.
The post has received over 7,000 shares on Facebook. More than 4,000 people commented on the photo.
One user commented, "Some selfish people are of the opinion, ‘that’s their job... it’s what they get paid for.’ Well, let me tell you, ‘it certainly is NOT!’"
One user who claimed to work in the service industry said that they witness people leave tables messy every day. "There's a lot of them about," the person commented.
"The kids run around like it's a playground and you try and dodge them while carrying hot food and drinks," he added.
