Walter White and Jesse Pinkman are not teaming up again.
Six years after Breaking Bad went off the air, fans had been hoping something related to the AMC series was about to drop because of a few cryptic posts on Instagram.
Those rumblings started after the show’s stars Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul shared a photo of themselves with the caption: “Even sooner.”
Many had hoped a new season was going to go into production.
But now all those dreams were shattered as Cranston revealed he and Paul are collaborating on a new brand of mezcal, according to Page Six.
“We started traveling to Oaxaca to see if we could find it, and we mean it had to be ‘it,’ something so damn good even people who don’t think they like Mezcal will love it. It had to be perfect or we weren’t going to do it,” the two actors said in a joint post shared to Cranston’s Instagram.
The pair decided on the name Dos Hombres for their new liquor brand.
Cranston added: “We are crazy about the taste, the aroma, and the versatility of this smokey, age-old alcohol. Try it, and let us know what you think. We are certain you will love it.”
Well, it’s safe to say many are not feeling any love for it.
One fan didn’t hold back by commenting: "The biggest troll in the history of trolls. Maybe ever."
While another added: "LOL THIS IS THE MOST DISSAPOINTING ANNOUNCEMENT EVER.”
And a third wrote: “I thought it would at least remotely be related to ‘Breaking Bad.’ DISAPPOINTED.”
But it wasn’t all hate as one delighted fan cheered the news by commenting: “I love these dos hombres.”
While fans wanted them to reunite on screen, don’t expect for that to happen any time soon.
“We had the time of our lives while shooting Breaking Bad and truly built a very special bond,” Cranston said in the post. “Knowing that we couldn’t share the screen for quite a while - our thoughts turned to a new project.”
But fans can still look forward to the previously announced Breaking Bad sequel on Netflix which will at least star Paul.
Cheers to that!
