Son of a nutcracker!

General Mills is making breakfast festive and sweeter by releasing a new cereal inspired by the holiday classic film “Elf,” according to Delish.

While Will Ferrell’s character Buddy the Elf in the 2003 hit famously described the four main food groups as candy, candy canes, candy corn, and syrup, the cereal will only include one of those flavors.

Each box of the treat will include maple-flavored corn puffs alongside pink and green marshmallow trees.

The green cereal box features animated images of  Buddy the Elf, the Arctic Puffin, and Mr. Narwhal on the front.

“Elf” cereal has already been spotted on store shelves, but is only available for a limited time through the holiday season.

Unfortunately, fans of the film shouldn’t expect a sequel to the Christmas comedy anytime soon.

James Caan, who played Ferrell’s biological father in the movie, recently disclosed the behind-the-scenes drama that has derailed the prospects of another chapter in the storyline.

During an interview on 92.3 The Fan’s Bull & Fox, Caan took time out from discussing the Cleveland Browns and revealed why audiences haven’t seen an “Elf 2” materialize.

“We were gonna do it and I thought, ‘Oh my god, I finally got a franchise movie, I could make some money, let my kids do what the hell they want to do,’” the Oscar nominated actor said. “And the director [Jon Favreau] and Will didn’t get along very well. So, Will wanted to do it, he didn’t want the director, and he had it in his contract, it was one of those things.”

Neither Favreau nor Ferrell have responded to Caan’s comments.

For now, fans will just have to be content with eating the cereal and streaming “Elf” at home.
