It's official: Walmart, Target and other stores are running low on toilet paper again

Get ready for another toilet paper shortage.

That's the advice of experts as Walmart officials say that some of their stores across the country have been overwhelmed by shoppers stocking up in advance of the latest round of scale backs in states across the country.

"We do see big differences, depending on the communities that you're in," Walmart US CEO John Furner said on a call with analysts Tuesday, per CNN Business. "The specific categories where we have the most strain at the present time would be bath tissue and cleaning supplies."

Walmart CEO Doug McMillon called it "disappointing" to see "as many out-of-stocks as we have in consumables right now, generally," although, per CNN, he said the situation had improved since the spring.

The company says availability varies store by store, but tipsters tell WWJ 950 that shelves are bare already in some stores. And it's not just Walmart -- outages also reported at Target, Costco, and more.

Some grocery chains, including Kroger have limited the amount that people can buy in anticipation of hoarding.

Shannon Pruitt reported the Costco she visits in metro Detroit was out of toilet paper yesterday. Another said the same of Walmart in Chesterfield Township. And one said the toilet paper shelves were empty Sunday afternoon in Ann Arbor's Target, but they had disinfecting wipes.

"The 2 Meijer stores in A2 was out of wipes but had some TP and PT...Costco was out of both," Debra Griffin Burton reported on Facebook.

Meanwhile, Jessica Hamer said she had plenty of toilet paper, but she also has four kids and one pack of paper towel left. "Maybe you can find someone to trade with?" Ronald Joseph helpfully suggested on Facebook.

"If you’re a “toilet paper/paper towel” hoarder... you’re a selfish, ignorant, asinine, imbecile," Candace Langmeyer-Adams wrote.
