Schools
Most schools, including kindergarten through high school, colleges, and universities won’t hold classes on Monday, January 18th. Even for students who are remote learning, kids will likely have day off from school. A few private institutions may be continuing learning through the holiday. Check with your local school website to see if classes will be in session.

The Post Office
Because it is a federal holiday, most government run buildings will be closed. This includes your local post office, the DMV, and City Hall.

UPS and FedEx will remain open for shipping on the holiday.

Libraries
Don’t wait until Monday to return your book last minute. You should expect your local library to be closed on the holiday.
