Luke Perry Honored by 'Riverdale' Cast as Season 4 Begins Production

Four months after his sudden death, Luke Perry remains very much a part of Riverdale.

As the show begins production on the its fourth season, the cast paid tribute to their dear friend by reflecting on their time together on the CW series.

Actress Madchen Amick, who plays Alice Copper, shared a photo from the first script table read for the episode entitled “In Memoriam,” according to People.

“There was nothing but love, memories and mourning for our beloved Luke as we honor him in our first episode back ❤,” Madchen wrote, while adding the hashtags, “#wemissyouluke #inmemoriam #riverdale #S4 #tableread.”

The group selfie included Cole Sprouse, Lili Reinhart, KJ Apa, Camila Mendes, Madelaine Petsch and Mark Consuelos sitting around a table alongside other members of the cast and production staff.

Sophie Perry and Jake Perry, Luke’s children, both commented on the post with heart emojis.

Last month, Riverdale creator Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa announced that the season 4 premiere episode would pay homage to Perry. Although he didn’t reveal plot details, Aguirre-Sacasa did say it would be “…the most important episode of Riverdale we'll do this year, if not ever."

While writers took time to figure out a proper sendoff for Perry, his character of Fred Andrews was said to have been away on business and did not appear in the final three episodes of last season.

Perry died from a massive stroke in March at the age of 52.

The season 4 premiere of "Riverdale" is set for Wednesday, October 9th at 8pm on The CW.
