Trump Hears Cheers at Alabama-LSU, While Others Protest Outside Stadium

By , RADIO.COM

President Donald Trump’s weekend sports tour continued on Saturday when he arrived in Tuscaloosa for the Alabama-LSU game.

There were a handful of protestors outside Bryant-Denny Stadium, including one which featured the giant Trump baby blow up doll, but inside the stadium was a different tune.

When Trump, accompanied by his wife, Melania, was showed on the jumbotron shortly after the game had begun, he received an overwhelming amount of applause from the Alabama fans.

It was by far the most positive reaction the president received among the sporting events he has attended recently while Democrats continue to push for impeachment.

Last week, Trump attended a UFC event at Madison Square Garden where he sat ringside and was greeted with a mix of cheers and boos.

The week prior, he attended Game 5 of the World Series at Nationals Park, where a “lock him up” chant broke out when he was shown on the jumbotron.

In addition to the Trump baby balloon, which has become a common sight at anti-Trump protests, some fans also sang their own version of Alabama’s victory song, Rammer Jammer, with a Trump twist.

Otherwise, the anti-Trump sentiment was rather mild.

The university had warned its students against “disruptive behavior” earlier in the week, while head coach Nick Saban referred to the president’s expected visit as “an honor.”
