If you can’t find toilet paper at the store, you’ll surely find it at this bakery in New Orleans.
Haydel’s Bakery is keeping their sense of humor amidst the dark coronavirus pandemic by selling some tongue-in-cheek cakes.
The bakery showed off their toilet paper shortage-inspired cakes on Facebook.
The photo reveals a toilet paper roll-shaped cake alongside the caption, “Can’t find TP at the store? Swing by Haydel’s and get your TP Cakes.”
The post details that the TP cake is made with “a 6″ almond cake and filled with buttercream filling.”
“These TP Cakes are sure to please everyone stuck at home. But just like out there in the real world, they are in short supply,” they added.
And keeping up with the humor, they made sure customers knew the cakes were “to-go only.” Cakes retail for $26.03 each.
However, since the bakery closed on Friday out of "abundance of caution" to both employers and customers, cakes will now be available for shipping.
Orders can be placed on the company’s website and will ship out on Tuesdays and Thursdays only. It’s unclear if the TP cakes will be available for online ordering, but there is an option to snag a “speciality cake.”
In light of the outbreak, small businesses have been forced to get creative in order to stay afloat.
One bakery in San Francisco introduced “quarantine cakes,” Pinterest-inspired cakes that come with a fun and timely PSA written on top like “wash your hands” or “don’t touch your face. There’s even a cake that reads, “pretend you’re an introvert,” to help those practicing self-distancing.
