Hurricane Zeta has proved to be a fatal storm, with an electrocution death in New Orleans Gert Town neighborhood. It happened in the 8200 block of Palm St.
Officials say the victim was a 55-year-old man.
Power company officials are urging people not to approach downed power lines, because those lines are probably still active.
"You should always assume even if a power line is on the ground, or hanging, it should always be considered live," said Entergy New Orleans spokeswoman Lee Sabatini. "You really need to stay away. It's incredibly dangerous."
"Nobody should be trying to touch them or move them," said Louisiana Governor John Bel Edwards. "We've got to let the professionals do that."
