Sometimes good does win out over evil.
Netflix is finally letting you get rid of its most annoying feature: autoplay previews.
The streaming giant has announced it will now let customers disable the autoplay preview that plays trailers and clips whenever you momentarily pause over a movie or TV show on the home screen. Hallelujah!
“Some people find this feature helpful. Others not so much,” the company wrote on its official Twitter account.
“We’ve heard the feedback loud and clear — members can now control whether or not they see autoplay previews on Netflix.”
To deactivate the feature log into your Netflix account from a web browser. Then go to “Manage Profiles” and select the “User Profile” you want to update. Then simply uncheck the option for autoplay previews and hit save.
The change will then go into effect on all devices you use Netflix. Afterwards, you are free to go and live your best life!
The reaction to the news was overwhelmingly positive with many gushing with gratitude.
“THANK YOU AND FINALLY,” wrote one fan on Twitter.
“God is good,” added another.
“No one found that feature helpful,” a third commented by calling out the company’s claims that some do in fact enjoy the option.
Now, if you are a masochist and find you preferred Netflix with autoplay previews enabled, then simply follow the same instructions and re-check the autoplay option.
But never speak of it to anyone!
