Attention SPAM lovers! You can now order a can of pumpkin spice-flavored meat. Yes, you read that right!
Pumpkin Spice SPAM was released on Monday to celebrate the first official day of fall. Hormel Foods Corporation reported that it sold out in less than several hours.
According to a press release from the corporation, the limited-edition product is available on SPAM and Walmart websites in two-packs for $8.98.
The company announced that it is “allowing customers to look beyond lattes and donuts” by selling this version of SPAM.
"Although the new variety may sound too good to be true, it's true," Hormel said. "The makers of the iconic SPAM brand have created a flavor that can be incorporated into a variety of craveable recipes perfect for fall, including sweet and savory waffles, decadent grilled cheeses and fall hashes."
The product was said to be garnished with cinnamon, clove, allspice and nutmeg.
SPAM suggested that you use this product to fry it up with waffles, hash or eggs to “make the perfect breakfast or brunch pairing.”
Sounds good? There is no word yet on whether the product will be available for next year.
For those who missed out, you can still buy the 15 varieties available here through other retailers.
As the item flew off the shelves, people all across Twitter have been giving their opinion. Some even calling the flavor “completely disgusting.”
Others disagreed and were very excited about the news and wanted to try it.
The question is, would you ever try pumpkin spice flavored SPAM?
