If you had a hard time logging into your morning Zoom call this Monday, you weren’t alone.

An outage of the popular video conferencing app was reported on the East Coast of the United States on Monday morning before spreading across the country. By midday, meeting and webinar service was restored to the majority of Zoom users, announced the company in a tweet.

"We are continuing to roll out a fix for the remaining users still impacted," they added.

The company addressed the outage in a statement at 8:51 a.m. ET, saying that they had “received reports of users being unable to visit the Zoom website (zoom.us) and unable to start and join Zoom Meetings and Webinars.”

Zoom did not give a reason for the outage, but in an updated note said that the issue had been identified and that the company was deploying a fix.

Video conferencing has soared in popularity in the past few months, with millions of people shifting to at-home work and schooling, as well as using it for socially-distant parties, weddings, and even legal trials.

In March, Zoom temporarily lifted “the 40-minute time limit on free Basic accounts for schools affected by the coronavirus.” To use the services, students or teachers needed to fill out an online form using their school e-mail addresses that were then verified by Zoom.

“Today” host Hoda Kotb officiated the wedding of an Arizona couple who were forced to postpone their ceremony due to the coronavirus pandemic in April. The television host, who is also an ordained minister, surprised John Sizer and Melanie Mulvihill with a virtual wedding on Zoom.

The couple believed they were going to have a video call with their maid of honor, but were surprised to find their families and pastor on the call as well.

Kotb joined the call, and after pronouncing them husband and wife, surprised them with a performance from country artist Russell Dickerson, who sang his hit “Yours,” the song they planned for their first dance.
