Sen. Roy Blunt (R-MO) told media members on Monday that Senate Republicans do not have the votes to dismiss the articles of impeachment against President Trump, despite the president calling for "outright dismissal" over the weekend.

This means that the president will stand trial in the Senate that will end with him either being convicted or completely acquitted. Republicans have said for months they would not dismiss the two articles against President Trump.
