Midlothian, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - Saturday's freezing rain has lead to a large number of power outages in the metro area. Dominon, Sunday afternoon, was dealing with nearly 85,000 outages in its Central Virginiaservice area.

Dominion says it will be working around the clock to restore power. VDOT says it is working to make the roads as passable as possible. However, they are warning of downed trees and power lines. They say they are looking at a "long term" recovery effort.

VDOT asks people to stay off the roads until conditions improve.
