Richmond, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - Governor Ralph Northam says with high school sports moving outdoors with the start of football, he will be issuing an executive order allowing 250 people at games. This limit will be expanded provided masks are worn and crowds engage in social distancing.

Indoor winter sport crowds were limited to 25. Northam says the expansion is happening in part because case numbers are dropping. However, he stresses that the loosening of restrictions will be gradual and slow.

Northam also says he is meeting with other sports, like NASCAR and the Flying Squirrels, to talk about crowd limits at their facilities. He expects to have more information on them next week.
