The Phillies will call up 24-year-old third baseman Alec Bohm, according to multiple reports and first reported by Meghan Montemurro. The Phillies have not yet confirmed the roster move.
Bohm was the Phillies' third overall pick in 2018.
Last year, in 125 games between Lakewood, Clearwater, and Reading, Bohm hit .305 with 30 doubles and 21 home runs.
94WIP's Howard Eskin reports you could expect Bohm to get some starts for the Phillies, whether it be at third base or as a designated hitter. Currently, Jean Segura is playing third base for the Phillies, but there is some speculation that he could move to second base.
Bohm's bat will be added to a Phillies team that is already 4th in MLB in OPS (.790), 5th in slugging (.443), and 8th in batting average (.251). However, they are just 19th in home runs (20) and 22nd in RBIs (63), two departments where Bohm should help.
