Kelly Ripa says ‘See ya 2020’ with cheeky family holiday card

This holiday season, Kelly Ripa is wishing for health, happiness, and “a break from 2020.”

The “Live with Kelly and Ryan” host shared her family’s holiday greeting card with her Instagram followers on Monday, and while the card features a sweet photo of her children on the front, it’s the cheeky note on the back that shows some of Ripa's signature sense of humor.

The front of the card shows Michael, 23, Lola, 19, and Joaquin, 17, with a message wishing their loved ones happy holidays from the Consuelos family. When you flip the card over, you find a photo of Ripa and actor Mark Consuelo’s children walking away from the camera, with Lola looking over her shoulder with a caption that reads “see ya 2020.”

People reports that the photos are from a shoot for its inaugural family issue this year. This isn’t the first time the Consuelos clan has used photos from a magazine shoot for their holiday card – in 2019, Ripa featured pictures from an issue of People on the card, noting that it was the first time she had appeared in her family’s annual holiday card in 22 years.

She joked on her morning talk show that for her family, the Christmas card “is an exercise in futility,” so when photographer Miller Mobley was snapping pictures of her husband and children, she ran into the frame and subsequently used all of the outtakes for the card.

“It looks like an advertisement for a new series coming to primetime, I can’t wait to watch,” teased her co-host Ryan Seacrest. “What’s going on with that family on the Upper East Side?”
