A man was arrested Saturday in Las Vegas after police say he breached a perimeter fence at McCarran International Airport and then climbed onto the wing of a commercial jet.

Police were dispatched to an active taxiway just after 1:30pm PT on reports of a man walking on the wing of an Alaska Airlines flight ready to take off for Portland, Oregon.

Video taken by a passenger on the jet shows the conclusion of the incident. He appears to take off his shoes and attempt to climb the wing to evade officers. He falls off as officers and firefighters attempt to get the man to safety.

Police suspect impairment or mental illness may have played a role in the man's actions.
