Team Phelps’ latest member has arrived.
Olympic legend Michael Phelps has welcomed his third son with wife Nicole Johnson, according to Page Six.
While their baby boy, Maverick Nicolas, was born September 9th, the couple shared the news on Instagram on Wednesday.
“Family of 5! Welcome @mavericknphelps to the world! Born 9-9-19,” the 34-year-old champion captioned a photo of the entire family surrounding Nicole in the hospital. “Mama and baby are healthy and the boys are pumped to be big bros! #housefullofboys.”
The former Miss California USA shared the same photo with the caption, “We welcomed Maverick Nicolas Phelps into the world on 9/9/19 at 36 weeks and 2 days.”
The new mom also revealed Maverick’s weight and height.
“Our lil big man was 6lb 5o and 20”. He instantly has stolen all of our hearts and keeps me an ecstatic mommy of boys. I can’t wait to walk this journey surrounded by my men,” she added.
Maverick now joins big brothers Boomer Roberts, 3, and 18-month-old Beckett Richard.
Phelps and Johnson married in 2016, just months before he announced his retirement at the conclusion of his final performance at the Rio Olympics.
The 28-time Olympic medalist now devotes his time doing advocacy work for mental health issues and promoting healthy, active lives for children through his Michael Phelps Foundation.
And while he’s taken a more active role at home co-parenting with Nicole, Phelps still gets up early, but it’s no longer for grueling training sessions.
“I’m usually in charge of breakfast in the morning, so it’s whatever the boys want,” Phelps recently said.
Looks like he’ll now have to make room for one more.
