Giannis Antetokounmpo may be headstrong, but not quite like this.
The Milwaukee Bucks star was ejected in the second quarter. from Tuesday’s game against the Washington Wizards after head-butting Mo Wagner.
The two players were chirping and walking toward each other during a stoppage in play and when the two got face-to-face Wagner pulled up while Antetokounmpo appeared to lower his head into the side of Wagner’s head.
Wagner stumbled backward a bit and Antetokounmpo was tossed from the game.
It was Antetokounmpo’s third regular season ejection of his career and fourth overall, although his first since April 1, 2018.
It is possible Antetokounmpo faces a suspension for his headbutt, too.
In 2015, the NBA suspended Kevin Garnett one game for headbutting Dwight Howard.
Should Antetokounmpo face similar discipline, it would not keep him out of the Bucks’ first playoff game. Milwaukee still has one seeding game remaining on Thursday against the Memphis Grizzlies.
