If the Celtics fans were looking for a villain heading into Game 7 of their team’s series with the Raptors they got one.

Nick Nurse has the Green Teamers mad.

The impetus for the ire came with less than a minute less and the game tied at 98-98 in regulation. Jayson Tatum drove to the basketball, firing the ball into the corner, well ahead of teammate Daniel Theis. It resulted in the game’s biggest turnover at the time.

The problem was that it appeared as though Tatum believed Nurse was a player, with the Toronto coach inexplicably having roamed all the way down to the end of the court.

After the Celtics’ double-overtime loss Tatum didn’t blame Nurse, saying, “"That was my fault. Can't blame Nick Nurse. He's not playing."

Teammate Jaylen Brown wasn’t so understanding.

"Grown men should be able to control themselves, especially the coaching staff,” Brown said.
