The cast for the upcoming Kurt Warner biopic is beginning to grow with some star-studded names.

Golden Globe nominee Dennis Quaid and Oscar-nominated actress Virginia Madsen are two of the more notable additions to the cast for the sports drama, “American Underdog: The Kurt Warner Story,” according to Deadline.

In addition to Quaid and Madsen, Ser’Darius Blain, Adam Bladwin, Bruce McGill, Danny Vinson, Chance Kelly and Hayden Zaller have also signed onto the Lionsgate film, which is being directed by John Erwin and Andrew Erwin.

They join Zachary Levi, who is playing the role of the Hall of Fame quarterback, and Anna Paquin, who is cast as Kurt’s wife, Brenda Warner.

Quaid, who has starred in other sports movies such as "The Rookie" and "Any Given Sunday" is reportedly set to play former St. Louis Rams head coach Dick Vermeil, whom Warner won a Super Bowl with during the 1999 season. Madsen will play Kurt’s mother, Sue Warner while Kelly will play former Rams offensive coordinator Mike Martz, who later became Warner’s head coach.

Baldwin will play Terry Allen, Warner’s coach at the University of Iowa and McGill will play Jim Foster, the owner of the Arena Football League’s Iowa Barnstormers – where Warner played on his unusual journey to the NFL.

The rest of the cast will reportedly involve friends and family of Warner and his wife.

The film is based on Warner’s memoir, “All Things Possible: My Story of Faith, Football and the First Miracle Season,” as well as interviews with the former quarterback, who was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2017.

It will chronicle Warner’s journey from working at a supermarket and bouncing around from the AFL and NFL Europe until getting his shot in the NFL where he became a two-time league MVP and Super Bowl champion en route to a Hall of Fame career.
