While Terry Fontenot has been on the tip of the Falcons' tongue for the last 10 days, it wasn't until after the Saints lost to the Bucs on Sunday that they could officially hire Fontenot as GM.
First thing on Tuesday morning they did just that, officially announcing the hiring of Fontenot as the new Falcons general manager.
On Friday afternoon the Falcons announced the hiring of Titans OC Arthur Smith as their new head coach. Now Smith and Fontenot will begin to put together the rest of their staff and put together their plans for the upcoming draft and upcoming offseason.
Fontenot, who has been with the New Orleans Saints for the last 18 seasons, just completed his first year as the Saints Vice President/Assistant GM for Pro Personnel.
Fontenot began with the Saints as a marketing intern before working his way up the organization and now he stays in the NFC South as the new GM of the Atlanta Falcons.
