Stephen Gostkowski had some ups and downs in 14 seasons with the Patriots, but nothing like this.

After missing three field goals and an extra-point for his new team, the Titans, the former New England kicker nailed a 25-yarder with 17 seconds remaining to give Tennessee a 16-14 win over Denver Monday night.

During his entire career with New England the 36-year-old Gostkowski had never missed as many as three field goals in one game, having owned the fifth-best field goal percentage in NFL history coming into the season opener.

Gostkowski’s first miss came in the first quarter, a 47-yard attempt. His 43-yard try just before halftime was blocked, with a third-quarter 42-yard kick also failing to find the mark. He also missed the extra-point on a Titans’ go-ahead touchdown with 13:49 remaining.
