Giants WR carted off field with possible head or neck injury vs. Washington

New York Giants wide receiver C.J. Board was carted off the field during Sunday’s game against Washington with a possible head or neck injury.

The team later announced that Board was alert and initially diagnosed with a neck sprain, and was being taken to a hospital for evaluation.

Board was the target on a first-down play early in the third quarter, but was awkwardly hit by Washington safety Deshazor Everett and twisted around before hitting the ground. He laid motionless for a few minutes as trainers checked on him, before being carted off the field with his face mask taken off and his head and arms being supported by staff.

Board had one catch for eight yards on the day, and had six catches for 58 yards this season coming into the game.

This is a developing story.
