Patrick Mahomes ruled out of Chiefs-Browns game with likely concussion

The only thing worse than a loss on Sunday for the Chiefs would be to lose Patrick Mahomes to an injury.

That is exactly what happened.

In the third quarter of the AFC Divisional Round game between the Chiefs and Browns, Mahomes was tackled and landed on his head.

The Chiefs quarterback appeared woozy and needed some assistance while getting up and walking off the field.

Mahomes was brought under the blue tent to be evaluated and was later seen leaving the field and heading toward the locker room with the team’s neurologist. The Chiefs later announced Mahomes would not return to the game after being evaluated for a concussion.

Chiefs backup quarterback Chad Henne relieved Mahomes to finish the drive, which resulted in a field goal to extend Kansas City’s lead to 22-10, and will be tasked with completing the game for the Chiefs.
