It has been one week since Kobe Bryant, his daughter Gianna, and seven others were killed in a helicopter crash that left the world stunned at such a tragedy.
While Bryant was an NBA star, he left an impact across the sports landscape and his death has been a topic throughout the entire week leading into Super Bowl LIV.
Many players spoke about Bryant on Opening Night and the impact he had on them, and they continued to honor the late Lakers legend leading up to the main event Sunday night in Miami.
Prior to the game, players from both teams stood at the 24-yard line as Hard Rock Stadium held a moment of silence for the victims of the helicopter crash, along with Hall of Famer Chris Doleman, who lost his battle with cancer earlier this week.
That was not the only way Bryant was honored by the players on Sunday.
San Francisco 49ers cornerback Richard Sherman, who knew Bryant and said the Niners would continue the Mamba mentality in the Super Bowl, was among those who wore a Bryant jersey under his dress jacket on the way to the game.
Meanwhile, Emmanuel Sanders, who had posted a quote to Twitter attributed to Bryant on Saturday, joined Dante Pettis and DeMarcus Robinson Bryant-themed cleats on the field before the game.
