Vontaze Burfict is at it again.
The Oakland Raiders middle linebacker was ejected from Sunday’s game against the Indianapolis Colts after he lowered his head and delivered a vicious helmet-to-helmet hit on Colts tight end Jack Doyle.
Doyle had just made a catch on one knee when Burfict came in helmet-first and collided into Doyle’s head.
The 29-year-old linebacker, who has a reputation for delivering dirty hits, immediately drew a 15-yard penalty for unnecessary roughness. After further review, the officials ejected Burfict from the game.
Burfict decided to mock the decision by blowing kisses to the Indianapolis crowd as he exited the game.
The Raiders linebacker has been disciplined several times over the course of his eight-year career, missing 10 games due to suspension. He was last ejected from a game in 2017 as a member of the 2017 Cincinnati Bengals for a late hit and running into an official during a game.
Due to Burfict’s history, he is likely to face yet another suspension from the league over his latest hit, but fans and media on social media took it a step further and called for him to be removed entirely from the league.
Here is some of that reaction:
