(670 The Score) The Bears interviewed franchise great and Hall of Fame linebacker Mike Singletary for their defensive coordinator vacancy, The Athletic reported.

Singletary, 62, has served in multiple coaching roles since 2003, including two years as head coach of the 49ers from 2009-'10. He was an eight-time All-Pro linebacker who played with the Bears from 1981-'92.

Singletary was a linebacker on the Bears' lone Super Bowl championship team in 1985 and selected into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1998.

The Bears have reportedly interviewed former Vikings defensive coordinator George Edwards, former Giants defensive coordinator James Bettcher and Colts defensive backs coach Jonathan Gannon for their defensive coordinator position.

Chuck Pagano, the Bears' defensive coordinator these last two seasons, announced his retirement from coaching last week.
