It was not quite Marshawn Lynch level, but Saints running back Alvin Kamara had his own mini-beast mode moment in Sunday night’s game against the Green Bay Packers.
With under a minute left in the third quarter, Drew Brees dumped a pass off to Kamara while under pressure hoping to pick up a few yards. What happened next was a thing of beauty.
Kamara evaded a tackle right after making the completion. He spun around, stumbled and shook loose another tackler allowing him to pick up the first down. Kamara then pacedhimself behind a blocker who took out a Packers defender -- whom Kamara then hurdled. He evaded another tackle as he made his way into the red zone and then another inside the 10-yard line as he made his way into the end zone for an impressive 52-yard score.
The touchdown allowed the Saints to tie the game up, too, as the two powerhouse offenses entered the final quarter of play deadlocked.
It was his second touchdown of the game and ninth of the season as Kamara continues to prove why he earned that mega contract extension prior to the start of the season.
And if he didn’t channel Beast Mode with his touchdown, he certainly did with his grill.
