“The Match” on Sunday between Tom Brady and Phil Mickelson vs. Peyton Manning and Tiger Woods was delayed due to rain, but that did not stop the trash talking.
As the golfers were warming up amid the downpour in South Florida at Medalist Golf Club, Manning was discussing his options for caddies to help give him an edge over Brady.
“Do you bring in Eli? Could do that. Do you bring in Nick Foles? Maybe,” Manning said.
Brady then turned around and snapped back, “That’s a cheap shot.”
Peyton also joked he thought Brady would bring Rob Gronkowski as his caddy because “Gronk will do whatever he asks him to do.”
Eli, who joined Twitter on Saturday, wasted no time in chiming in to get in on the trash talk.
“Heard Peyton says he wants me to be his caddie,” Eli tweeted. “I would, but I can’t always carry the team.”
Meanwhile, Foles seems to wish he would have gotten the call.
"Ill come caddy and you help you out against Tom," Foles tweeted. "Let's go!"
Whenever “The Match” begins, the players will be mic’d up live and also have the ability to banter with the broadcast team, which will surely allow for more trash talk to ensue.
