Even with his team long gone from the postseason, Tom Brady managed to make headlines in the Super Bowl.
Appearing in a Hulu ad during Super Bowl LIV, Brady delivered a well-placed punchline seemingly referencing his impending free agency.
"I'm not going anywhere," Brady says during the black-and-white commercial--this after a week of rampant speculation about the legendary quarterback's future.
The 20-year veteran churned the rumor mill himself last week with a cryptic social media post which some construed as a farewell to Gillette Stadium, and ostensibly the Patriots. The Hulu ad appeared to pick up on that post with similar visual themes, showing a solitary Brady stalking through the empty stadium.
The gimmick is just the latest escalation in what has already been a rumor frenzy surrounding Brady's fate. It was the topic of discussion during an otherwise relatively quiet Super Bowl Week, with the death of former NBA star Kobe Bryant in a helicopter crash on January 26 casting something of a somber mood throughout sports world.
It's unclear whether Brady's ad is meant to confirm his plans, but probably not. After all, the guessing is the whole point.
